In this Tour we will first go to Fátima, place where in 1917, it is believed that Our Lady of Fatima appeared
to the 3 little shepherds, and where there was the miracle of the Sun. Since then, Fátima became one of
the most important catholic shrines in the world, with thousands of pilgrims all year round.
Next stop will be Batalha, with its beautiful gothic Monastery built in homage to the biggest victory of the
Portuguese army, against the Spanish, in the 14th century.
After Batalha we will head towards Nazaré, a beautiful fishermen village that recently became famous all
over the world because of its giant 100 feet waves. We will have free time for lunch in one of the many
small portuguese restaurants. Fish or seafood are recommended.
Leaving Nazaré, we will drive south to Obidos, one of the most beautiful medieval villages of Portugal and
UNESCO Heritage site. Surrounded by walls and with its castle in the center, we will walk through its narrow
charming streets discovering beautiful hidden houses. Before departing to Lisbon, it’s maybe time to taste
the local liquor, the Ginjinha, made of sour cherries.
